Bald Eagle in Dorchester

Went on my annual canoe ride down the Thames on the weekend and got a great photo of a bald eagle, well, the picture is great for my little camera!

Wow! What a great shot with your "little camera". We have a big camera with the extra lens as well as a "little camera" and we wouldn't risk the better one on a canoe trip anyway.

You should come out to BC. Here the bald eagles are as common as crows! Ok, that's an exaggeration but not by much, there used to be a pair nesting right above my residence and right now there's a nesting pair at the barn where I ride.

hey Carly,

Yeah, I know, I've seen a few out west myself, there are amazing birds!
But they are still listed in Southern Ontario as endangered, and delisted in the Northern part of the province, yet there are 5 nesting pairs in the city of London and more just outside. Back in the early 70's there was a pair just west of Dorchester along the river near the golf course and, as it seems, they are back.

This info was from a man named GREGORY BALCH from the Candian Outdoor Heritage Alliance.
