here goes
I'm like a dinosaur trying to enter the modern world. I just got a digital camera (a Canon powershot) and am experimenting with it and thought I would try to post a picture but then realized the whole blogger has changed - so we'll see if this posts properly. Carly, just a quick question - I seem to have created a separate blog (Marijke's blog) at some time in 2006 - can I delete it?
And there's some really great pictures on the blog - it's good to keep up with what's going on at the home farms - next I may try some pictures of my house and dogs and whatever - if this works.
(Okay I downloaded a picture but I don't think it worked - I checked the preview and there was no picture but I'll 'publish post' anyhow)

Motorcycle Ride
On the long weekend I went for a motorcycle ride with another member in my department Chris and his girlfriend Suzanne. We went riding up part of Mount Baker in the states. Here is a picture of Carly and Suzanne in front of the mountain:

And here's a picture of the bikes. Mine is the one on the right.

It was a great ride up a twisty road and at the top there was even snow on the ground on the roadside. You can see from the pictures there is still a whole lot of mountain above us. There were a lot of motorcycles doing the same trip and no wonder, it was a great ride.

New foal
Viola and her foal in front of Age's horse barn. She was born on Saturday morning.
Monique and Bert put Viola in the barn and then got the foal used to some handling. Viola was in the barn and was not impressed being away from her foal.
Viola's two other daughters are just dying to be all together, but it is a bit too soon for that.
It has been quite dry around here and
Bert decided to water our garden.

Medieval Times in Toronto
This past week Carly was in Ontario attending a conference in Toronto. While she was at home on the weekend Bert, Marianne and Carly went to a dinner/show called Medieval Times. We were served a great meal during a fantastic show based onmedieval times with lots of horses and knights. Here we are waiting for our meal.
