The weather was just too good.
The company was pleasant. And the dining was an A-1 Experience.

All photos uploaded in Blogger are associated with a Picassa account. Each person who uploads photos generates their own blog specific Picassa web album.

So if you log into Picassa and delete the photos from the web album, all your contributed photos to the blog are also deleted. The web album has the same name as the blog (not sure what happens when you have two blogs).

You can also delete these photos with little warning from a Google Plus account (you might think you are deleting photos from Google Plus but you are really deleting the entire web album). Once the photos are deleted, they are gone for good, from the album, from the blog, everywhere unless you have your own personal backups.

Taking off the honey

Getting the smoker working really good before we head out to the other hives at the farm.
We had a hive on our porch roof this year and here is Bert getting ready to take the honey off the hive. Now....how do we get these 55+ pound boxes off the roof?

Matty's pickle recipe

Matty has been asked by a lot of us for her pickle recipe and we decided that I would just post it on the blog. It sounded so easy to make...so here it is...

4lb cucumbers (4litres/5lbs)
4 cups water
2 cups white vinegar
1/4 cup pickling salt
Dill/garlic

Wash cucumbers and soak overnight, covered.
Bring vinegar, water and salt to a boil.
Pack hot jars with cucumbers add 2 sprigs dill, 2 cloves garlic. Top with syrup and seal.
Let stand for about six weeks so that pickles can.....well pickle.

Hiking around Davos

It was a beautiful hike, and the first time in Switzerland that I can remember where I can't see any buildings. I even lost cell phone reception!
